If you’re a procrastinator when it comes to sprucing up your home, you’re not alone — Christina Applegate is right there with you.
For years, the actress, 44, simply lived with her “god-awful” (her words) kitchen to avoid a hectic remodel. But after suffering a damaging flood that required her to rip up all of the floors, she decided it was finally time to update the space.
“It’s a place now where we can celebrate as opposed to a place that we want to get out of as fast as possible — which is what it was like for me for the last 20 years of living in this house,” Applegate told Popsugar.
Applegate began by teaming up with Laurel & Wolf designer Jessica Today, who helped the actress craft a fully functioning family hub for herself, her husband, Martyn LeNoble, and their young daughter, Sadie.
While dated features and dark corners plagued the old space, the refreshed rooms boast sleek cabinets, a modern eating area, and a stunning mudroom built to stylishly enforce Applegate’s no-shoe policy.

With additional drop zones for mail, keys and other clutter, this reimagined retreat is finally a happy hangout spot for the upcoming Bad Moms actress, as opposed to an everyday eyesore.
“It’s the greatest thing ever. It’s like, it’s the next best thing after Amazon Fresh, seriously,” Applegate said.
