On GLAMOUR Tries this week, Beauty and Entertainment Assistant Sheilla Mamona tried MiHIGH's Infrared Sauna Blanket - a blanket that claims to detoxify, calm, help to burn calories and is praised for its all-round benefits.
"This portable sauna helps you to detoxify your body and is really good for muscle recovery especially after a workout," Sheilla says about the Infrared Sauna Blanket. "It's also meant to be really relaxing and help you burn calories. It's kind of like a sleeping bag and doesn't come with loads of bits and bobs, which I quite like, it just has the remote which you plug into and the actual sauna."
To start the sauna blanket, all you need to do is unfold it and lay it down on a flat surface before setting the temperature and time on the remote. "It says here that I should start on level five because it gets hot. It also suggests to put on some basic exercise clothing, it recommends long sleeves and socks - I guess it really doesn't want you to burn your skin - or any light clothing." Says Shei.
She unfolds the Infrared Sauna Blanket onto her bed, plugs it in and climbs inside the sleeping bag-like design before setting the temperature and time and letting it get to work.
"My clothes are soaking wet. The heat was literally rising all the way to the top of my head so even though it wasn't covered I really feel like my whole body benefited from it." Shei says, giving her final verdict on the £399 blanket. "I feel really zen, I think it's definitely worth it, it's such a nice ending to a really good work out and feels like such a treat."
