The Memphis Grizzlies set their course on a 4-game winning streak after Ja Morant‘s return. The 24-year-old rising superstar turned the NBA world’s attention to his side by dropping a game-winner bucket on his return. And, he repeated the same after two games against the same opponent, the New Orleans Pelicans. Notably, this time Morant broke into a celebratory dance, which the NBA world made viral for all the wrong reasons.
Controversies isn’t a new term for the Grizzlies star point guard. The All-Star found himself at the mercy of the league, when he flashed guns twice on his Instagram live. Apart from that, he was also involved in an off-court beef with the Indiana Pacers players. It all played a part in his 25-game suspension, which nearly showed the back doors for the Grizzlies. Following the suspension, Morant seemed to be far away from the controversies, but a brief moment during the Tuesday night game brought back the flashes for fans.
Fans push Ja Morant into another controversy
The Grizzlies have no look back after their franchise spearhead made his reentry into the league after the suspension. The team which is currently in the 13th seed, will look to climb up the ladder and bring themselves up in the playoff contention. However, this strong comeback might have to face a minor hiccup, as fans point out a suspension worthy controversy.
With less than 13 seconds left in the Tuesday night game against the Pelicans, which went into an intense overtime battle, Morant dropped an alley-oop from Marcus Smart to stretch the lead to 115-109. Following the bucket, Morant shook his legs for a brief celebration.
But the fans blew it in a different direction. One user took to comments of the viral dance clip and wrote, “Bro came back with bigger guns.”

The ‘Finger gun’ celebration – a look back
In March, Morant was under the scanner for yet another controversy, where the star was accused of flashing a gun at a teenager. Amid that controversy, he went viral in the NBA world displaying a ‘finger gun’ celebration from the bench.
In the regular season game against the Houston Rockets, Grizzlies star Desmond Bane dropped a three-pointer after pump fake, leaving his team’s bench on their feet.
Following the bucket, Morant went ahead with his gun celebration. At the same time, a few of teammates can be seen, trying to stop the All-Star from displaying that celebration.
