Former My Chemical Romance Frontman Gerard Way Explains His Britpop Influences
Gerard Way. As a teenager in mid-’90s New Jersey, Gerard Way was unabashedly drawn to Britpop music. “I could relate to it a great deal,” the former My Chemical Romance frontman says, “because they were singing about the lousier, mundane areas they were from. I felt like that living in Jersey.” His love of the genre was placed on the back burner over MCR’s decade-plus run, but now, having struck out on his own, Way is releasing his debut solo effort, the Britpop-toasting Hesitant Alien.
Hollywood Hacker Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison
The 36-year-old hacker was arrested last October in relation to the massive celeb phone-hacking scandal which the FBI famously dubbed Operation Hackerazzi.
The feds accused him of hacking into the emails and cell phones of a slew of hot young starlets including Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Ali Larter, Busy Philips, Emma Caufield, Renee Olstead and Addison Timlin and then posting his fraudulent findings online.
