The queen of brows has launched Refy Lip Collection and when they landed in the GLAMOUR office, the girlies immediately scrambled to see who would be chosen to test them.

Refy – founded by model and influencer Jess Hunt and founder of Shrine, Jenna Meek – is back with another launch of dreams; a multi-tasking, duo-ended product to get our pouts snatched. If the Refy Brow kit which launched back in November 2020 is anything to go by, then we know we're onto a good one. After all, that kit got us all rethinking our entire brow technique in order to achieve that ultimate feathery ‘on-fleek’ finish. The three-step routine has built a cult following for the brand.

Now, this glossy lip kit comes in the form of three products in two, with a dual-ended lip liner and setter, and a high-shine gloss that feels like a balm, but looks like glass. The lip liner + setter and the gloss are formulated to work on their own or in conjunction with one another, with the best results coming from applying liner, then setter then the gloss on top. But they also carry their own benefits individually.

The liner comes in six neutral lip shades to cover a wide range of complexions. It's blendable and creamy but to stop the colour bleeding and rubbing off, the setter – formulated with a waxy, silicone-like texture – keeps the colour in place for longer, while giving a matte and smudge-proof finish.

GLAMOUR Tries: The internet is going wild for Jess Hunt's REFY Brow Collection - but is it worth the hype?Gallery49 PhotosView Gallery

As for the Hyaluronic Acid gloss, the non-stick formula is supposed to be applied through its cooling metal applicator shaped to perfectly contour around the lips, and it is there to smooth fine lines and leave your lips looking like a mirror.

This is what glossy lip dreams are made of, so we had to put it to the test. Here are five people’s truest and most honest opinions on Refy’s Lip Collection.

Shade: Taupe & Sepia

Yes Refy, I am a sucker for lip liner and I needed this from you. Having dark skin and duo-coloured lips means I'm often scrambling to find the perfect neutral hue that will really make my lips pop. I tried the ‘Taupe’ shade but as it was a little too light for me I decided to mix it with ‘Sepia’ and it gave me what I think it's the perfect warm shade of warm brown.

The lip liner was soft on application and it did glide quite smoothly, but the formula is delicate, so don't press too hard. The idea of the silicone textured setter was everything I wanted, as my main issue these days is allowing the liner to stay on my lips for longer than ten minutes. However, I struggled with it as in excess, it tries with a white-cast, it settles on the edges of the lips and crumbles a little, so you had to apply the tiniest amount and the applicator didn't necessarily make that easy. By my second or third go I figured that less is defintely more in this step.

However, this clear gloss bought me faith back into doing up glossy lips over matte. It's glorious, it's not sticky, it's smooth and the finish is like glass. I feel like a 90s princess when I wear it – Y2K Energy activated. Plus, the complements I get for it…whew! For that reason alone I am officially sold.

Shade: Blush

I swear by Refy products (if you haven't tried the cream blush and gloss highlighter, where have you been?) so had high hopes for Jess Hunt's latest drop. And it did not disappoint. I went for shade ‘Blush' – a dusky rose that hits that perfect pink-but-not-too-pink hue – and I'm not going to lie to you, this pic is not the first time I tried it. It landed on my desk the day before I went on holiday, and I wore it every single day and night.

The lip liner is creamy and blendable, making it very easy to apply, and the setting formula on the other side of the pen keeps the product in place for hours. Don't apply too much though – I found I only needed a dab or two before rubbing my lips together – any more and it would be too drying. The gloss is high-shine and doesn't feel sticky, but I prefer a matte lip, so I tend to skip the gloss step. Since I got my hands on this lip kit, I haven't gone a day without using it. That says it all really.

Shade: Fawn

I was expecting really big things from the Refy Lip Collection, having liked *every single* IG post I saw about it. A perfect nude pout with all-day staying power is something I'm always keen to get behind. The product itself is very clever and true to Refy's genius product design, you twist the product for the setter and pull the lid for the liner – a 2-in-1 dream.

The liner is creamy and pigmented, and I love the ‘Fawn’ shade for a subtle 90s lip. The lip setter is a strange consistency, it feels like a primer but you apply it on top of your liner. I found that if I applied too much it would dry with a white cast, so less is definitely more. The gloss is everything you could ask for, high shine, not sticky, and gives an appearance of extra plumpness.

Shade: Dusk

Believe it or not, I've never actually tried any REFY products before. Shocking, I know, when it's such a cult favourite brand. I had high hopes for the Lip Sculpt after seeing it all over my For You page on TikTok, and the 'setter' side of the dual ended product really intrigued me. My lip liners usually stay in place for the best part of five minutes, so I was ready to be wowed.

However, while I absolutely LOVED the lip liner side itself – creamy, pigmented and lightweight – the transparent setting formula felt weirdly slippery and threw me off. It reminded me of a pore-smoothing primer combined with a matte lipstick. I have to say though, it's holding power is legit (even after several cups of coffee), but the silicone-like texture it leaves needs some improvement before it’s a 10/10 for me.

Shade: Sepia

I tried the Sepia shade and thought it matched my skin tone really well.  It looks natural so it can be worn everyday. To achieve fuller lips, I overlined and followed it up with the setter. Lastly, I used the lip gloss over my lips and the result was a naturally fuller pout that didn't look overdone or fake.

The setter did leave a white cast, but that's probably because I had it in excess, but on trial number two, I went in with less I achieved a really nice pout. I really like the fact that I can use all three products combined or individually. It made me have fun with makeup again because I enjoyed experimenting with all the different looks I could create with the different shades of the lip kit.
