They also shared a picture together, which was taken days after Graham Whelan got released from the Mountjoy Prison in the Irish capital of Dublin. After pleading guilty to money laundering charges, Whelan went to prison for a year to serve his sentence. He also had a watch and cash that had been determined to be proceeds of crime.
There were also several reports that suggested Conor McGregor shared friendly relations with Graham Whelan. ‘The Wig’ even played for the Black Forge football, which is owned by the former UFC double champion. Confirmations of McGregor’s relationship with Whelan came to the fore when a Kinahan Cartel member replied to Floyd Mayweather, who tweeted about the €900,000 bounty on McGregor’s head. The cartel member asked the undefeated boxing legend not to believe everything that is written in news tabloids.

McGregor also shares cordial relations with Byrne’s nephew, Lee Byrne. He has been frequently pictured with other cartel members like Jonathan Murray and Andrew Murray.
